Using entertainment on show stand requires a different approach to an evening event, and it is very imortant to use artists familiar with that kind of environment. There are various options, but in general it is a good idea to contact us and arrange for a free consultation. The most important thing is to plan the integration of the entertainment into the promotional aims of your stand.
There are three main ways to use a silhouette artist on your stand:
The best method for you will depend on the size of your stand, the nature of the event, and your own aims and expectations. All of these can be discussed at a pre-show consultation.
Silhouette artists are a great way of bringing people up onto your stand, and giving them a momento of their visit which they'll certainly keep! For most stands it's essential to set up a base from which the silhouettist can work. At it's most simple this can just be a couple of bar stools and a small area of wall space on which to mount some silhouettes!
If space allows it's a good idea to built a more elaborate stand inorporating some silhouettes and a display of some sort. This is because as word spreads around the hall and people will come looking for the silhouette cutting.
If you want the stand to be in action all day long we recommend booking two artists. We will then ensure that the silhouette cutting continues all day, with both artists working during busy periods.

Some photos of a simple silhouette stand built into the corner of the Vits stand at a recent printing show at the NEC. This stand won an award for the most imaginative give-away of the show! This approach works well as it provides a clear focal point for the silhouette cutting, so that visitors can send their friends and colleagues to have their own silhouettes cut too (and they do!)

This is a relatively new idea for us, and will require that the silhouette cutting be integrated into the design of the stand. We will be showcasing this approach at the Exhibiting Show this summer (stand ES135), so please do stop by and see it in action!
The concept is to have a video screen built into the stand above the artist's head, with a small camera relaying an image of the artist's hand onto the screen. Optionally a second camera could record the experience of the subject currently "in the chair", using a split-screen arrangement.
The advantage of this very contemporary approach for larger stands is that the skill of the artist will be visible to a much wider audience than the small circle of delegates who might otherwise stop to watch, and will create a buzz of interest all over the conference. If you might be interested in this very new idea do please contact us for a consultation.

The Mix 'n' Mingle approach works well for short periods of time. This is very similar to the way we work at evening drinks receptions and so works well if you a planning a drinks reception on your stand. For this kind of event you can book a silhouette artist to roam among the delegates for the duration of the reception (usually 2 hours or so).
Another interesting use for Mix 'n' Mingle during a conference is to use the silhouette artist to work outside the area of your own stand, for instance by roaming around the lunch tables during break times. The silhouettes can be mounted onto a card with your corporate logo and stand number, encouraging delegates to stop by your stand at a later date (see "Silhouette Extras" to see how these cards might look).
Another use for silhouette cutting is to sponsor an artist to work during the post-conference dinner. We will mix among the delegates during the drinks reception and continue working around the tables between the courses of the meal itself.
