Internal Landscapes 2018
Introduction
PEOPLE ARE THE INVISIBLE presence in the landscape around us. Today, almost all landscapes are to some extent shaped by human beings. This series is based on a series of small landscape oil sketches I made from 2010 to 2012. I set out with the idea of putting the landscapes inside silhouettes, which I called “internal landscapes”, although it isn’t clear whether we are in the landscape or the landscape is inside us. I created twelve of them altogether, but only ten were finished. They were exhibited in two open studio events as well as the inaugural Get Reading Art exhibition at John Lewis in Reading in 2019.
THESE GALLERIES ARE DISPLAYED for artistic interest. However, many works are available for sale, while others have been sold, bartered or given away over the years. If anything catches your eye, or if you’d like to arrange a studio visit (either real work or virtual) do please get in touch. While the most recent galleries represent ongoing work, you can browse collections of art from various projects over many years here. Charles is a productive artist and always has one of more projects on the go.
