Ink-Sketch Paper Cuttings 2026

KEEPING A SKETCHBOOK with me is a habit I’ve kept all my life. Some of my recent studies involve quick sketches of both seated and standing figures, mostly seen on the street, made with a Japanese brush pen. This project involves taking such quick, simple sketches, and turning them into complex paper cuttings.

This gallery shows both the original sketches and the paper cuttings made from them.

Each cutting is made in an edition of two, facing in opposite directions. Collectors can obtain them either loose (wrapped in tissue and supplied in an A4 cachet portfolio, together with a certificate of authenticity) or mounted on glass in a limed-oak frame, with a signed white sheet behind the paper cutting and the certificate glued to the back.
