Landscape Sketches 2010

THESE WATERCOLOUR AND LINE sketches were painted in Clayfield Copse, a nature reserve near to my home in Reading. I’ve always loved it being in woods, and not many days go by when I don’t visit it for one reason or another.

I go for walks in Clayfield Copse and practice Shintaido in the open spaces nearby. Sometimes I go there to sit and think. Occasionally (less often than I should) I take a sketchbook or drawing pad with me. Here are a series of watercolour sketches made on such visits, mostly focussing on the shadows cast by the trees.

Most of these pieces are no longer available.
