THE LIFE ROOM IS A PLACE TO EXPERIMENT. My method of working in both graphite and oil on paper was developed in the life room. Working in other media challenges me as an artist and keeps the work fresh, while working in oil with a live model is possibly the most challenging of all.
The lack of time makes it impossible to think too hard. The result is gestural work which often works by accident.
